Tattoos for Benny

Recently, a dear friend and fellow photographer lost her beautiful son.

Benjamin Gary Sherman “Benny”, passed away on March 03, 2015 suddenly at home in Burnsville.

Benny was truly one of a kind. He worked at the movie theater in Burnsville and was the biggest movie buff around. When he wasn’t watching movies or TV he was playing video games and chattin’ people up on Facebook. He will be remembered by those who knew him as a goofy, outgoing, positive dude. We can only hope that he’s walking around heaven and watching an advanced screening of Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Benny had many awesome tattoos and was a huge fan of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. In his honor, we have designed a custom temporary tattoo that borrows a quote from Tolkien. To provide comfort and cheer to the Sherman family, we would like as many people as possible to wear the tattoo to celebrate Benny’s life in the coming weeks and months. If you are so inclined, please post a photo of yourself wearing the tattoo and use the hashtag “TatsForBenny.”

If you would like to participate, you may order as many as you like by clicking “Add to Cart” below and paying via credit card. You do NOT need a PayPal account to check out. The price includes shipping and handling.

Please be sure to include your correct mailing address.

Net proceeds will be donated directly to the Benny Sherman Memorial Fund. Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing your photos in the coming weeks and months!

Springfield, IL Photographer: Glam-o-Rama

I love old movies, so it should come as no surprise that some of my photos seem to reflect the influence of old Hollywood. I think every couple has a glamorous side…it’s up to me to bring it to light!

This photo of Tara and Zach reminds me of a silent film. I think he just rescued her from train tracks — just in time!

I love the punchy colors and dramatic lighting of The Legacy Theater.

Classic, movie star elegance at Chicago’s Blackstone Hotel.

Springfield, IL Wedding Photographer ~ Some Photos Are More Important Than Others

Quite possibly one of the most moving photos I have had the honor of taking. Megan’s grandmother was unable to attend the wedding, so she and Matt visited her grandmother instead. On a day that is supposedly “all about the bride and groom,” Megan and Matt put a great deal of emphasis on the importance of family and friends. More photos from this wedding coming soon, but this one might just be my favorite from the day.

Beautiful Family (and Engagement!) Session at Lincoln Memorial Gardens

It is so obvious that these two are bonkers about each other — and their beautiful little boy. Can’t wait to photograph their backyard wedding in September!
